Discover Highfield Hall Wedding Venue: A Romantic Country house

Having worked at The Highfield Hall Wedding Venue for a number of years now, I can confirm I absolutely love capturing weddings here!

Why, you ask?

For me, it's everything — from the initial contact with a couple right through to the wedding day itself. I like to have a helpful nature and be someone you can rely on, not just to take photographs, but to help wherever I can and make the day run as smoothly and naturally as possible.

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and I don't believe you should spend it worrying about photography. You should be enjoying every laugh, every hug, every bit of excitement and every single moment with the people you love.

Getting Ready

The Bridal Prep room at Highfield Hall is one of my favourite places to start.

It's light, airy and spacious, with lovely views towards the pagoda and gardens. There's also that fantastic bathtub overlooking the gardens, which gives us something a little different for your photographs.

The mirror is another favourite of mine. It gives me the opportunity to capture some beautiful dress shots and those little details that can so easily be forgotten once the day gets underway.

The Gardens

The gardens are beautifully looked after, spacious and full of little nooks and corners.

There's plenty of room for your group photographs around the lawn, but it's also a fantastic place for portraits. This is where I really like to slow things down.

When you're relaxed, everything starts to flow naturally.

That's the sweet spot for me.

Rather than making your portraits feel like a photoshoot, we'll take a gentle walk, have a chat and enjoy a little time together. You get a moment to breathe and enjoy the moment, while I simply happen to have a camera with me.

That's when some of the best photographs can happen.

Chris & Lois

One wedding that really stands out for me was Chris and Lois (Click link to view gallery)

They were fantastic — relaxed, enthusiastic and very much go with the flow when it came to having their photographs taken. That enthusiasm went a long way in making the whole experience enjoyable.

And that's exactly what I want for every couple.

There doesn't need to be pressure to pose perfectly or worry about whether you're doing things right. I'll guide you when needed, but ultimately I want you to be yourselves.

After all, it's your wedding, not a photoshoot.

Working Alongside The Highfield Hall Wedding Venue

The staff at Highfield Hall are another reason I love working here.

They're helpful, polite and know the site incredibly well. Their planning and organisation are top notch, and having a great day coordinator like Flo makes such a difference.

There can always be little hiccups on a wedding day — that's just weddings! But when everyone works together, things can quickly get back on track, allowing you to concentrate on what really matters: enjoying yourselves.

A Walk Down the Driveway

The driveway gives us another fantastic opportunity.

We'll take a gentle walk up the drive, stopping here and there along the way. There's no rush. We can chat, have a laugh and just enjoy being married.

And if the light happens to be right, perhaps we'll stop for a silhouette photograph.

At sunset, this area can offer some beautiful opportunities, and sometimes the best photographs are the ones that happen because the moment simply feels right.

The Pagoda

The pagoda is another favourite.

It's a great location for group photographs, but towards the end of the day I also like to use it for some creative flash photography.

This is where we can create something a little more dramatic and striking — photographs that look fantastic displayed around your home and make you remember exactly how you felt that evening.

Around the Back

Part of the fun is simply taking a walk around the venue.

The area around the back is usually lovely and shaded, giving us somewhere to cool off, take our time and chat about the day.

I'll have my camera with me, but that's really the only difference.

There are also some lovely spots where the fairy lights sit behind you, adding a little sprinkle of magic and giving your portraits that extra pop.

Why Is This So Important for Your Memories?

Because your wedding day goes incredibly quickly.

Before you know it, you're walking down the aisle, you're married, you're celebrating with everyone you love, and then suddenly you're heading off on your honeymoon.

It's easy to remember the big things — the ceremony, the speeches, the first dance.

But what about the little things?

The way the groom looked at you.

Your parents laughing together.

A friend giving you a hug.

That quiet five minutes when you escaped the madness and simply stood together.

A single moment that lasted only a few seconds but meant everything.

Those are the things I want to capture.

I don't want you to look back at your photographs and simply remember what the day looked like. I want you to remember how it felt.

Because when you return from your honeymoon, the flowers may have gone, the cake will be eaten and the music will have stopped — but your photographs will still be there.

They'll take you straight back to the wedding day !

And that's why choosing your wedding photographer is one of the best decisions you can make.
