Old Palace Chester Wedding Photographer

The Old Palace in Chester is one of those venues that feels a bit different to the usual.

Right in the centre of the city, but still tucked away enough that it feels calm once you’re inside. It’s got a lot of character to it — the building, the history, the riverside setting — and it all adds something without needing to try too hard.

Weddings here tend to have a really nice pace to them.

Everything’s close by, so there’s no rushing around or jumping between locations. People can settle into the day properly, which always makes a difference. It feels more relaxed, more natural, and that’s usually when the best moments happen.

From a photography point of view, it’s an easy place to work.

There’s a mix of indoor and outdoor space, good light throughout the day, and plenty of spots nearby along the river for a quick walk without disappearing for too long. Nothing feels forced — just a few minutes here and there, letting things unfold.

A lot of couples choose the Old Palace because it keeps things simple.

You’ve got everything in one place, right in the middle of Chester, without it feeling busy or overwhelming. It’s a good balance of atmosphere and ease, which suits a more relaxed approach to the day.

If you’re planning a wedding at the Old Palace Chester and you like the idea of photography that feels natural and unposed, it’s a venue where that tends to happen pretty easily.
